Thames enters Spanish market

Thames Water has agreed to purchase majority stakes in two water businesses from the Spanish electricity group, Iberdrola Diversificacion.
In the deal clinched on 19 July, RWE Aqua, Thames Water’s European subsidiary, is to acquire 75% in each of Proyectos Y Installaciones De Desalinacion (Pridesa), Bilbao, and Ondagua, Madrid, for a reported total of €94.5 million. RWE Aqua declined to confirm the figure, merely saying that consolidation will take place in September.
