Bids due for Abu Dhabi’s Mirfa IWPP

Banks, consultants and lawyers were scheduled to submit bids last month to act as advisers for Abu Dhabi’s fifth IWPP, which will involve the acquisition and expansion of the Mirfa plant in the western region of the emirate.
The plant has an existing power capacity of 186MW and produces around 40MIGD of water. The client, Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA), expects to issue a request for proposals (RFP) from
potential developers by the end of this year, after a developer has been selected for the emirate’s fourth IWPP at Umm al-Nar.
