Around 90% of Russians living in the administrative divisions, or Oblasts, of Krasnodar, Leningrad, Perm and Samara have access to potable water while the figure for sewerage coverage is 63%.
Figures were published in an OECD report on water and sanitation key performance indicators (KPIs) in the Russian Federation, a copy of which was obtained by GWI last month.
The report – which includes details of water consumption, tariffs and staff costs – also reveals an average unaccounted-for-water (UFW) figure of 28.2% for the four administrative areas.
