Oewa expands east German business

VIVENDI WATER SUBSIDIARY OEWA WASSER UND ABWASSER has taken over the management and operation of the Schlieben water company in the south of eastern Germany.
Oewa, based in Leipzig, won the contract after Wasserverband Schlieben issued a Europe-wide call for tenders to supply it with water and wastewater services. It provides around 3500 customers with an annual 100,000m3 of drinking water.
The Schlieben company chose Oewa rather than two local competing bidders, Envia Aqua of Chemnitz and EGE Magdeburg.
