Wupperverband cross-border leasing contract

The German public water corporation, Wupperverband has signed a cross-border leasing contract with two large US banks to raise funds to modernise and expand its wastewater treatment plants.
Under the terms of the deal, Wupperverband leased its WwTPs in the towns of Hückeswagen, Marienheide, Kohlfurth and Burg in a transaction completed at the end of 2001, and plants at Buchenhofen, Radevormwald, Wermelskirchen, Dhünn, Odenthal, Schwelm as well as part of the Leverkusen WwTP, in a deal finalised earlier this summer.
