Berlin settles privatisation dispute

The part-privatised utility will be able to raise prices, but returns to investors will be cut.

After five troubled years of public-private partnership between the RWE/Veolia consortium, minority stakeholder in Berlin’s water company, and the city of Berlin, as major shareholder, new arrangements have been put in place for 2004 which should set the points for clearer business policy.
