Algeria awards Hamma RO contract

Ionics was announced as the low bidder last month. It is seeking finance from a mix of quasi-public US agencies.

The Algerian Energy Company (AEC) has selected the US’ Ionics as the preferred bidder for a 200,000m3/d seawater RO desalination plant in the Algiers suburb of Hamma. Ionics will finance, build and operate the plant as part of a 70/30 venture with AEC.
