VE considers asset sales

But presses ahead with Southern Water acquisition.

Suez’s great rival Vivendi Environnement (VE) has also signalled its intention to dispose of underperforming parts of its business in 2003. VE is thought to be looking at selling off around €2 billion of assets to lighten its debt load. It is not clear at this stage if this will include water assets.
