Brazil: São Paulo state’s Sabesp reported a loss of R$651 million (US$200 million) in 2002, reversing a R$216 million (US$66 million) profit in 2001.

UK: Six groups were shortlisted to buy Northumbrian Water.

Egypt: Severn Trent Metering Services was awarded a $750,000 contract for the supply and installation of an automatic water metering system (see story, p.17).
