New concessions spark Chilean revival

There is renewed interest in Latin America’s most stable market. Bids are being called for new concessions, a number of assets are available and the government is considering further share sales.

The Chilean government has launched a bidding process for four of the six remaining regional state water companies it has yet to sell off. The companies – Essat (1st region), Essan (2nd region), Emssat (3rd region) and Essco (4th region) – are among the last water and sewerage entities to be offered as part of Chile’s privatisation programme.
