Eon has sold the company to the Dortmund and Bochum Stadtwerke.
Ending several months of suspense and speculation, German energy giant Eon has sold its 80.5% stake in the water and gas company Gelsenwasser to the municipal utilities of Dortmund and Bochum for €835 million and reports making a €500 million profit on the transaction.
