Municipal utility Siapa plans to spend $700 million on improving water and wastewater services over the next 25 years.
As one of Mexico’s largest and fastest growing industrial centres, the four-city metropolitan area of Guadalajara is putting enormous strain on its water resources. The Lerma-Chapala water basin, one of the largest in Mexico, is under particular pressure – and so is the water utility responsible for maintaining it.
