Ten in the running for Chilean concessions

Prequalifiers include all of the big three private water companies through their respective subsidiaries, as well as Cascal and Saur.
Ten consortia have prequalified for the 30-year concessions to run water and sewerage services in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th regions of Chile. The concessions for the respective state water companies Essat, Essan, Emssat and Essco are being offered by the Chilean government in exchange for a cash payment (see GWI, Vol. 4, Issue 7, pp.16-19).
