Germany: Energy group Eon sold its controlling interest of 80.5% in Gelsenswasser to a consortium made up of the municipalities of Dortmund and Bochum

The price paid was €835 million. The one-off profit accruing to Eon from the deal is around €500 million. The transaction remains to be approved by the German competition authority (BKA) and the federal economics ministry (see story, p.20).
