Water underperformed yet again in 2003. But not for much longer.
Last year was another disappointing one for the water industry on the Stock Exchange. Market Insight on p20 shows that while an unweighted basket of all the water stocks covered by GWI corresponded with main market indices, the big water stocks, notably Veolia and Suez, underperformed. As a result, on a properly weighted basis the water sector underperformed.
