Non revenue water (NWR) is a major problem in Malaysia. Across the country, the average loss is 39% with old asbestos cement pipes being the source of most of the problems. In the capital city, muddy water brings in 250 complaints to PUAS (Perbadanan Urus Air Selangor Bhd) from customers every day and NRW stands at 43%.
