Minas Gerais leads the way with PPPs

Brazil expects to invest US$60 billion in public-private partnerships in the water sector. Minas Gerais intends to be first.

Representatives of Copasa and the Minas Gerais state government placed their public-private partnership (PPP) proposals before a public meeting for a final fine-tuning discussion on 29 April. They asked those investors, operators, equipment suppliers and other interested parties present to put forward their suggestions to “perfect” the new PPP operating rules.
