International Power has complained that the rumour, reported in the May issue of GWI, that it was to pair with Tractebel to bid for the Shoaiba IWPP is “categorically untrue”.
The rumour seems to have been started by the money men who want to see Tractebel and IP join forces on the project. Such a move would reduce the risks associated with financing it, but Ranald Spiers told GWI that the two sides will without doubt be bidding separately for the project.
