The sales of Culligan and the FCC interest came in time for Veolia’s half-year results which showed a 3.7% increase in revenues to €13.5 billion in the six months to the end of June 2004.
The fastest growing sector was energy (up 6.9%) followed by waste (up 4.6%). Water revenues advanced by a sluggish 0.9% to €4.634 billion. The international operations seem to have done best, with organic growth of 8.5%. France was up 1.8% as a result of “a sustained level of the design-build and distribution activities”.
