As part of a nationwide infrastructure plan announced by Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction in December, the National Strategy for Environmental Protection (NSEP) has set new targets for urban water supply and wastewater treatment for 2010-20.

By 2010, 90% of urban waste must be collected, 100% of healthcare waste treated, and 40% of urban wastewater treated. By 2020, 100% of urban households must have access to clean water and 100% of urban wastewater must be treated. There is no sign of a potential deal with a private operator however.
