Larry Chertoff looks at how the removal of restrictions on private activity bonds could revitalise public-private partnerships in the US.
Years of hard work by a partnership of water companies and municipal associations may be rewarded this year with removal of the volume cap on exempt private activity bonds used for water and sewer infrastructure. Industry veterans predict this change would quadruple private investment in municipal water projects within 10 years, revitalising public-private partnerships.
