Financial close of the Hamma project is a welcome boost for the Algerian desalination sector. It looks set to be the first and only deal to use international funds.
GE succeeded where others have failed last month when it announced the close of an Algerian desalination deal. Its Hamma SWRO project, which it is developing in conjunction with the Algerian Energy Company (AEC), reached financial close on 25 June. The announcement came at a ceremony in Algiers.
