Spaniards achieve Skikda close

Abengoa, ACS and Sacyr are celebrating the financial close of their first desalination project in Algeria.

Spanish groups Abengoa, ACS and Sacyr Vallehermoso closed the financing agreement for Algeria’s Skikda SWRO plant at the end of July. The move follows the close of Hamma, also a SWRO project, in June and is a sign that the Algerian government is seeking to push ahead with its ambitious one million m3/d seawater desalination programme.
