Poseidon Resources may be reducing its activity in Texas (Andy Shea, who was project manager on the Freeport proposal, moved to work part time two months ago), but it is expanding its horizons in California.
It has teamed up with Pajaro Sunny Mesa Community Service District to build a desalination plant on the Kaiser Refractories site in Moss Landing, Monterey. The story has all the makings of a soap opera. The Monterey area is a hotbed of opposition to desalination in general, and private sector desalination in particular.
