The publicly quoted Genoa utility’s recent acquisitions have made it the biggest water operator in Italy. Is it part of a wider multi-utility consolidation in Italy?
Utility analysts in Italy are watching with interest the latest moves of Genoa’s water services operator AMGA, after the announcement in the summer that it had gained full control of the city’s aqueducts following a takeover of the other two water providers, Nicolay and De Ferrari Galliera (see GWI, August 2005, p6).
