Mitsubishi Heavy Industries said it had received an order for the turnkey construction of an oil-fired power and desalination plant in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.
The order was placed by the consortium implementing the Rabigh independent water, steam and power project (IWSPP), which includes Marubeni, JGC Corporation, Itochu Corporation and ACWA Power. The Rabigh IWSPP will supply electricity, water and steam to the Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co., a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo.
