* Wastewater treatment and water purification company Layne Christensen has continued its acquisition spree with the purchase of 100% of American Water\'s Underground Infrastructure Group (UIG).
The transaction is expected to close in November, and follows the company’s takeover of Collector Wells International, Inc., a specialty water services firm that designs and constructs water supply systems. Layne Christensen announced back in July that it intends to combine CWI with a similar business acquired in the Reynolds, Inc. acquisition, which closed in September 2005.
