GE targets RO membrane market

The company says it could 10 cents off the price of water if it can put pretreatment and reverse osmosis together.

GE will launch its own seawater reverse osmosis membrane next year as part of its strategy to “redefine the model” for desalination projects. GE Water & Process Technologies’ vice president and supply chain leader Jeff Connelly told GWI that the move was an essential part of GE’s strategy to reduce dramatically the cost of water by technical innovation.
