AmiWater goes home to conquer

Amiantit’s water subsidiary suddenly finds itself ideally positioned for the Saudi water sector liberalisation. It is well placed to grow in the rest of the world as well. A deal with Gulf One Investment Bank will help it happen.

When Saudi Amiantit started buying water companies in Germany and Austria six years ago, it was difficult to see where it might lead. The market-leading pipe manufacturer seemed to have had little to gain from pairing up with TBW, a tiny Austrian consultancy firm specialising in structuring water projects in developing countries.
