Berlinwasser International back on the block

Just as it seemed the Japanese would re-energise the international ambitions of Germany’s leading water utility, the Marubeni – BWI deal seems to have cooled off. What has gone wrong?

Berlinwasser Holding is once more searching for a strategic partner for subsidiary Berlinwasser International (BWI), after a contract for the sale of an 80% stake to Japan’s Marubeni Corporation, signed on 14 December 2005 and due to close in May 2006, was never finally clinched.
