Czechs seek deadline extension for sewerage upgrades

After a long-running dispute over funding for sewerage projects, the Czech Parliament has been forced to beg the EC for more time.

The Czech Republic is to ask the European Commission to extend the deadline for upgrading its water treatment plants. The country originally agreed to upgrade its water treatment facilities by 2010 as part of its accession treaty to the European Union, which it joined in May 2004.
