* Argentina’s Aguas Santafesinas, ASSA, the new state-owned utility that took over water and sewerage services in the Santa Fe province from France’s Suez, will increase its rates this month.
ASSA declined to give details on the price hikes, but industry sources say they will be by around 35%. The new funds are expected to go to improving water services as part of a $10 million spending plan by ASSA this year. ASSA will offer special rates for poor residents in the 15-city province.
