* The consortium of International Power, Suez Energy International and Sumitomo Corporation has signed key project documents for the Hidd IWPP including a 20-year power and water purchase agreement (PWPA).
The PWPA covers the output from an existing 910MW CCGT and 30MIGD desalination facility, together with that from a greenfield 60MIGD desalination plant which is expected to be operational by the end of 2007. Financial close of the project is scheduled for April and payment of the purchase price for the brownfield development is due in early July.
