* The World Bank plans to grant Venezuela $200 million in loans over the next two years to modernise and extend its network of aqueducts and sewerage systems beyond the capital Caracas.
Following a technical visit by the Washington-based lender, the Bank aims to disburse the money in four tranches for projects targeted by Venezuela’s water sector body Hidroven and the environment ministry. They include wastewater and sewerage infrastructure, especially in smaller cities and neglected rural areas including indigenous communities.
