* Brazil’s government recently approved US$1.1 billion of loans from international institutions to be used for sanitation and infrastructure projects.

Cofiex (Brazil’s external financing committee) approved 36 projects worth $1.8 billion, of which US$1.1 billion will be provided by IFI’s. Approved projects include phase three of Sabesp’s Alto Tietê PPP in São Paulo state.
