French opposition to private water grows

The campaign against private water companies seems to be gaining momentum in Suez’s and Veolia’s backyard.

Several French MPs have submitted new legislation ordering a commission of inquiry on water management to be set up to investigate water tariffs and profiteering by private companies. The move follows a report in Que Choisir magazine earlier this year exposing alleged malpractices by private water companies.
