Oman does not need a high base load of power from the Barka 2 IWPP. But it does need water. It is a challenge.
The approach being taken by the Omanis for their Barka 2 IWPP could result in some interesting offers for the project. The Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP) has told bidders that a base load power plant is not required because of fluctuations in power demand throughout the year.
