GE enters private water finance business

The financing arm of GE Infrastructure has private water projects in Europe and North America in its sights. It is also preparing to have a go at the big power desal deals in the Middle East.

GE Energy Financial Services is moving into water finance. It aims to build a $1 billion portfolio of water investments over the next three years. Last month, it completed its first deal: an $18 million investment in a four-year-old wastewater reuse plant near Atlanta.
