China’s new restrictions on foreign ownership look worse than they are. GWI China correspondent Kathy Liu looks for the loopholes in the law.

New regulations for foreign investors in China which came into force on 8 September have cast a shadow over international private water companies’ interests in water distribution concessions. They restrict foreign companies’ abilities to take control of businesses in certain industries – including water and wastewater distribution.
