* Following last month’s statement of intent, United Utilities has agreed to sell business process outsourcing subsidiary Vertex for a total consideration of £217.5 million.

The buyer is a consortium of US-based private equity firms including Oak Hill Capital Partners, GenNx360 and Knox Lawrence International. Completion of the sale is expected by the end of March 2007.
