* Mekorot is preparing a 5-year plan that will include 30 desalination plants to treat brackish and seawater.
CEO Ronen Wolfman said the plan includes at least 10 large desalination facilities. The company last month issued an international tender for the first of these at Lahat, a site near Ashkelon in southern Israel (see Desalination Tracker p37).
