ISKI and ASKI raise tariffs – again

Turkish municipalities are charging more and more for their water. There is no guarantee that the extra money will go where it is most needed.

Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) has risked a public backlash by announcing a radical set of new water tariffs which will come into effect on 1st November. The new rates, which affect nearly 3.7 million connections, were ratified on 8th October, and mark the sixth such rise to hit the city in the past twelve months.
