Ofwat fires warning shots ahead of PR09

In its latest report on the industry, Ofwat has warned over investment shortfalls and the implications of interest rate fluctuations. It should give private equity investors food for thought in the run-up to PR09.

A new report from water regulator Ofwat, entitled Financial performance and expenditure of the water companies in England and Wales 2006-07, provides a comparison between the industry’s actual performance over the last financial year and Ofwat’s expectations of performance when price limits were set in 2004.
