Agbar enters Chinese water market

The Spanish company has finally gained a toehold in the Chinese water sector. It is unclear to what extent it will be competing against majority shareholder Suez.
Agbar has signed a joint venture deal with a Chinese partner, Golden State Water Group Corporation, to operate a series of water plants in Jiangsu province in eastern China.
The agreement includes a $43.8 million investment by Agbar in the construction of a 350,000m3/d drinking water plant, which it will then operate for 30 years. The ...
