Agbar moves to break local Spanish monopolies

Agbar has teamed up with a Spanish property developer to try to extend its domestic footprint. The move could result in further defensive consolidation in the Spanish water sector.
Agbar and property developer Marina D’Or have recently presented bids for a number of municipal water supply contracts in the Spanish Mediterranean region of Castellón through Sagapyr, a jointly-owned company set up in February of this year.
