Veolia doubles Ashkelon exposure

IDE now has an equal partner in the Ashkelon desalination plant, after Elran sold its 25% interest to Veolia. The French company will be hoping to take advantage of further capacity extension at the site.

Veolia Water has raised its asset ownership profile in Israel, buying Elran Investments’ 25% stake in the VID consortium, which owns the Ashkelon desalination plant.

The NIS93 million ($23 million) deal also covers Elran’s 10% stake in the Ashkelon plant’s operating company, Adom, and leaves Veolia with a 50% interest in VID consortium, and a 59.5% stake ...
