Veolia ousts Suez from Milwaukee

United Water has failed to retain its Milwaukee wastewater contract, after Veolia pipped it to the post with a $400 million bid. The projected savings for customers are only a fifth of what they were previously.
Veolia Water will replace United Water as the operator of Milwaukee’s wastewater system on 1 March 2008, after winning the largest service contract ever signed in the US wastewater sector.
