* The World Bank has approved a $147 million loan to China to help finance the Second Shandong Environment Project.

The loan covers 52% of the total project cost, and carries a 20-year term, with a grace period of five years. The project will finance, inter alia, the development of wastewater collection networks and treatment facilities in seven cities and counties in the province.
