Israel prepares to enter municipal desal market

The planned SWRO plant at Rishon Le-Zion has now been put out to tender. It could be the beginning of something big.

The municipality of Rishon Le-Zion has issued an international tender for the construction of Israel’s first municipal desalination plant. At least two other municipalities, Ashdod and Tel Aviv, are considering similar facilities, though these are still in the preliminary planning stages.
