RWE sets its sights beyond American Water IPO

Tariff rises in the US failed to boost profits at RWE’s water division last year. The company is looking to wrap up the American Water IPO and move on.

A rash of recent announcements from RWE saw the company unmask its future CEO, release its 2006 results, set out plans for a €25 billion investment programme, and announce a share buyback
initiative, all within the space of a week.
